Why Respiratory

One thing that I am constantly asked is "why did you choose Respiratory Therapy". I don't believe that I have one simple answer. I had the opportunity to shadow RTs ( and many other professions)  at the hospital I volunteered at, and was able to get a inside look at the profession. My mother and Grandmother are both nurses, and I knew I didn't want  to do that. However,  I still wanted to do something were I could be a part of the team, care for actually ill patients, and support myself financially so I just worked up the nerve and applied to the RT program and was accepted on my first try! Although I had my doubts at first,  now that I am in school I cant imagine myself doing anything else.
